Plan to spend the next few days clicking on each and every headding in this forum and reading them all. By the time you are through you will have answers to more questions than you ever thought to ask.
Somewhere there a link to an instruction manul. Look for it and good luck.

Thankyou
I was hoping that there was a site where desirable text files had been compiled.  The so called help file reaally hasn't been. I find that hal often holds conversation by himself. Do I need to reread the practice lines after purchase of better mic?

Any background noise of any kind can make Hal respond. Some times you have to spend dozens of hours training Hal to understand. It is not Hal's fault but Microsofts. Dragon Naturally Speaking is much better. Using a microphone with a cut off switch works even better.
