I was thinking, if I got a disk version sent through the post, would there still be the problem of having to register over the internet still?

Hal TTS with NeoSpeech does not require activation, but CD version of Hal 6 does require activation. The newer update of Hal 6 does not turn off online activation, it simply makes it less error prone on certain computers with constantly changing network settings (Laptops, modem, etc.)  If you have problems with the CD that was mailed out, email me and I can send out an updated copy.
