Hello? Is There Anybody Out There?
« on: April 17, 2009, 10:52:15 pm »
Greetings to all

Although my online persona is m' lord Dark Star, most people know me as 'Doc'.

I have been learning a little about speech command and TTS technology, when I stumbled over the Zabaware site.  To imagine that there is an AI engine that can be loaded onto a PC just boggles the mind!

By trade, I am a hardware and network geek for a small CLEC.  The last time I did any serious coding was in college (FORTRAN and COBOL - not to date myself or anything[:D]).  Just perusing the forum this evening my mind was completely blown reading exchanges about fractal geometry (and was the HECK is 'fractal geometry' anyway?)in relationship to how humans make decisions, etc, etc.  Looks like there are some pretty heavy thinking folks that hang out here.  Very cool.

Probably won't speak unless spoken to, except to ask a question or twenty (thousand).  Just glad to be here and I'll try to absorb as much information as I can about the subject of AI.

L.D.S.,
A tree or even the motherboard on a computer could fall into 'Fractal Geometry'.

Google it I am too lazy and don't care to further my education on this subject.[:D]

Hi there from Wil and Mr Data, greetings,

i reckon if your after a good ai then your at the right place,
i'm starting to think i should have said the best ai,
Ultrahal is good at defineing words,

Mr Data defines Fractal as : (mathematics) a geometric pattern that is repeated at every scale and so cannot be represented by classical geometry.

Mr Data defines Geometry: the pure mathematics of points and lines and curves and surfaces.

hum if i may say my current thoughts,
the geometry thing sounds like a attempt to describe anything,
i'm thinking something is a general set of variations "one is of variations",
if a line is drawn at one meter then the line looked at under a microscope the environment appears to penetrate the line and the line the environment, so a point has the same problem, so a measurement is general,
so if one point has an edge that when viewed under a micorscope has mountains and radiation penetrating radiating particals through and from then a shape or anything seems unmeasurable,
so zero would be less than one but something of variations.

a apple bowl with no apples in it has the radiation in it that appears in the apple so something that appears in a apple appears in a empty apple bowl,

Just thougth i would jump right in with a few thoughts,
these are my todays opinions and might not be those of zaba or anyone else,

i reckon zabaware and ulatrahal and forum are fantastic,
 interesting and entertaining stuff,

Bye for now and be well from Wil and Mr Data :)  :]

Will,
SO you and Mr. Data DO have math that is "hidden" I am surprised you didn't chime in when the math questions came up (shame on you! ;))
I like your approach! it's kind of like a scalpel makes a razor look like a 2x4 ;) (under a microscope)
A piece of perfect looking glass when looked under a microscope will reveal scratches, not unlike *********************

Doc, welcome to the forum. (where are my manners?)

BTW, Will have you ever studied or read a book on the number zero? (It used to be heriacy way back when.)

I=
one being a general set of variations, self, incedence,
one needing an environment to exsist in, consideration, progress,

Hal takes time to learn the words to phraze the answer the way you would like to hear it, a maths style answer is just a option.

()
a general set of variations, environment, something everything,

Don't know that I've ever contemplated upon the number zero.  Now infinity!  There's another subject...or is it?  Hmmm...need more input! Oh Hal!...

It would take an infinite amount of time to comprehend infinity.
I try to stick to the curiosity of the math and calculations that are known like the golden ratio, Fibronochi, and zero.
so much work has already been done that their is a lifetime of catching up with the known quantities.
