Ultra Hal assistant and Windows 8

Maybe some on can answer this. I understand that hal is not yet ready to be installed on windows 8. Why cant you install ultra hal in wxp mode in windows 8????

Ultra Hal 6.2 installs and works just fine in windows 8 ;)
