I as well have been looking into creating a HAL9000, if you're interested. Theirs is a shell manager available called light step (
http://www.litestep.com
), if you install that there is a HAL9000 theme, which makes your computer look like the HAL control panel.

Thanks MAV,
But I've already created my own skin of HAL9000 for use with
Ultra Hal. At the moment it's quite simple, but I'm planning
to make it more fancy.

Hi all,
If you like the idea of having a HAL9000 on your system...
Here it is.
(I also created an animated version of it, but somehow Ultra Hal
only shows the last frame. I don't know why. Perhaps the skin
can't be handled as an animation by the program.)[
