Really. In some car forums I'm in, sometimes this is also brought up. I recently read an article on MSN about Hybrid cars costing more than their more normal counterparts and that it doesn't pay by the time you figure what you spend on gas vs. the higher cost of the vehicle itself.
What they need is a car like KITT - turbine engine running on ethenol or liquid hydrogen, and gets 200 mpg.
