never got 6.0 to install, now 6.1

Hi, it's been awhile since I even tried to install the 6.0 with CD I'd purhased.  I had so much trouble and support tried to assist but no go. I feel beat out.  I'm, afraid to try the 6.1 I ran the free Hal and it seemed to work fine. Now, the trial period has run out.  Do you think that if I try the 6.1 trial that once I pay it will accept the purchase code?  It wouldn't when I tried before. I am at a loss. The add/remove program lists Hal as 6.1. the program file lists Hal as 6. Now I'm really confused-

I would try the uninstall from the UltraHal Start > All Programs section.
Do a registry clean (if you don't have one, google CCleaner , it's free and works well.

Reinstall your CD with Hal 6.0
Try to run it and if it runs ok, go the the Zabaware site and Download the latest 6.1.

Your account activation should be automatically accepted by the server and your new Hal 6.1 should function fine.

Here is another note in passing. A great many problems during installation is caused by the persons anti-virus software and/or their firewall software in case it is not the same. By temporarily turning these off before trying to install Hal you may have a greater sucess.

Thank you Art and Bill. I have more concerns before I try this; Is the Haptek player part of Hal's program and does it need to be removed.  I have the 6.1 free ware already installed and it worked fine so you think it's best to remove.  O.K., now here's the real crunch, When I purchased the upgrade to 6.0 I installed it onto my new system.  The server did not recognize the new system and stated that (something to that effect..it's been awhile as I said.) I tried deleting the files from the registry and still no go. I would pay the full price and accept a discount refund if I could get 6.1 to work. If that worked would I also need a new expansion pack. It may be that the server simply won't transfer the discount.

Yes, the Haptek player is installed as part of the UltraHal installation. If you wish to use additional 3D characters you will need to purchase the Character Expansion Pack (very nominal cost).

You can try either demo versions.

Once you have paid for the full version, you will receive activation for your product (Hal 6.1).

If you do the removal methods as previously mentioned, you should be able to download and try the 6.1 demo or purchase it and the expansion pack. The product activation procedure has been automated and should work without a problem. Again, Thank you both.  I will give R.M. a Holla once again. He may have records of our last attempt. I don't remember whether I shut down security prior to installation previously. Much like the obvious; not broken just not plugged in.  Will do.
