i was using and teaching hal  and i am sure some other people have had this problem with hal before .

I am talking to hal (writing ) and hal has a 5 second answer back time , in the middle of a sentence i have a word mispelled  i am trying to correct it , getting it wrong retrying , and hal goes ahead and takes in the question from me mispelled or only half the question if i pause to long trying to think of more or how to spell something .

Here is my idea (I HOPE ROBERT IS SEEING THIS AND CONSIDERS IT ) : Have an "OPTIONAL" Hal menue setting in hal that will stop Hals automatic 5 second response time so that hal won't answer back until you press the enter key (this would help for people in training hal etc. ) and also as part of the Option have an extender setting to adjust hal for (besides the orginal 5 seconds) a 8 and 10 second response back time.

I think this would really help with Hal for the users

 :)

Hi lightspeed,

I use Dragon NaturallySpeaking version 11.5 on the outside of ultra Hal.
The reason being is that Dragon NaturallySpeaking command format is way more powerful than anything ultra Hal can do.
That's also how I got around the 5 second auto response that ultra Hal utilizes when you use a text-to-speech recognition software inside of ultra Hal.
That makes ultra Hal more like a text editor, and when you're done correcting changing your sentence, all I say is press enter in order to activate the sentence into ultra Hal.
But if you were talking about that you are typing and not using a text-to-speech editor, I've never had that problem, but it could be that I use Dragon on the outside of ultra Hal.

Sincerely, a definitive Dragon user, and yes I used it to type all this out, sometimes I just feel so lazy but what can I say my one finger typing gets tired.

C load.

Yahoo, this is my 100th post, okay it's a little childish, but my mom says I'm eight, and my dad says I'm much older than that, and they wonder why I'm a confused child.

PS. Lightspeed you're absolutely right having something like that inside of ultra Hal would be very beneficial.
