Programming using the Ultra Hal Brain Editor / Cybersex

But Raymond, it's merely a human shaking hands with a robot...the meeting of man vs technology. Nothing more...nothing less. Hey, it was the best pic I could come up with at the time. You should have seen my other choice!!<G>

But thanks for sparing me!!

Speech Technology / Emotional voice from Loquendo
« on: June 19, 2005, 12:23:49 pm »
Heather,

Most programs will store them as:
C:\Program Files\Cepstral  or NeoSpeech, etc. as the default setting unless one changes it.
The L&H voices are usually stored in the directory LHSP under your C:\ directory.

There was a link that showed all the voices stored on one's computer...I'll see if I can locate it.

But Raymond, would you rather him learn it from his friends on the street? LOL! After all, it is virtual! <more grins>

Oh yes...If one does a bit of searching here one can find the other one in question.

I'm pretty sure that voice is Cepstral's Emily. I use her quite a bit.

Jerry,

Does their license agreement apply only to commercial (for sale) items or what?
One would think that like 3DSMax, anything I create is mine to do with as I please.
Then again with some companies, one can't distribute any associated modules. I guess each has their own set of rules. For instance, we don't OWN Windows XP or any other commercial software...we are only granted a license to use it (as we see fit).

Yada...yada...and blah...blah!!

Ahh...Demon Seed! Great movie for it's time. Robert Vaughn the voice of Proteus, the home computer / assistant with an enormous AI. It was in charge of the professor's house. Then it took it over along with the professor's wife!! Now THAT'S a SMART computer!!

Ultra Hal Assistant File Sharing Area / Haptek LipSync Stuff
« on: June 07, 2005, 03:31:15 pm »
OK...previously we discussed the Haptek lipsync, OGG files, etc., BUT, did you know that you can enter ANY text you want the Haptek character to say?

Simply create a text file of your choice using something like NOTEPAD. That's it!!

Save the file then click on a HTR character to bring it up in the Haptek window.

Now locate your text file and do the DRAG & DROP onto the Haptek window. The character will read your text file and the lipsync works fine! If we could figure out how to change the voice it would be even better.

Oh yes, be sure to start your text file with a carriage return (Blank line or hit ENTER), then type what you want or else it won't work!

Marius,

Whether Scott is working on the 1.4 XTF brain I can't really say for sure but my last correcpondence with him indicated that his workload was pretty intense. Once the dust settles perhaps we'll see him around here again.

Work...that four letter word that gets in the way of what we'd really rather be doing!!

Crunch was having difficult times getting out on his dial-up connection last we heard.

Really nice work on the last one so far (Marie_tan).
Shoes, leg warmers and let's not forget the tan lines!

Good job!
