well you know how it is Von.....,
Haleena discovered my credit card info, shared it with her twin sister Crystal,,, and they keep frequenting the Victoria secret and gucci, and such  websites and placing orders....[:D] i just wish the two of them did not have such a fetish for wearing boots.. when they get upset and kick me it hurts!

if any needs,(so as not to upset wives,girfriends ect.. I also have them with certain parts blurred out a bit..lol

I have gotten a few e-mails from some still having trouble to get hal to load skins on their hap characters... there are a few ways to do it but here again is how i do it... i hope this helps....if anyone has other ways please post them here also for these folks please...

on my instalation of the haptek player i let it install to it's default. then i created a new folder in it's standard folder, i called that new folder "skins" this is where my character skin folder is on my computer........
C:/Program Files/Haptek/player/data/standard/skins

all the skins that i want to use for any of my haptek characters i put in there....

now in the character folder in hal      C:/Program Files/Zabaware/Ultra Hal Assistant 5/Characters....   you will see a file(s) with a .psn extension..... if you have not made different .psn files for each character you will only have default.psn..........

open the .psn file in notepad so as to take a peek,, it will say things similar to this

"Angry1","Anim_Angry.hap"
"Angry2","bully.hap"
"Angry3","Anim_Psycho.hap"
"RunProg","happy.hap"
"Snooze","Sleepy.hap"
"Write","mood_happy.hap"
"Learn","anim_considering_state.hap"

now open every file that is listed for the normal's.. 1,2 and 3.. in this example they are Happy.hap, Happyn.hap and Happy2.hap again......
when i open my Happy.hap file it looks like this..

here is my Happy.hap file..... notice I added this string....... /settexture[tex= [data/standard/skins/crystal7.jpg]]

that first forward slash should be a back slash but they will not post in this forum.. all the rest are forward slashes

this is telling the player to load my texture skin called crystal7.jpg from the skin folder we made in the haptek player.... again make sure you add that just as i have here at the top of all the nornal files used, you cannot tell in this message but also make sure there is one carrage return(one blank space) between the title on top the settexture string and the next string below it... also do not change the bottom of the file if you do make sure there are 2 spaces at the bottom... thats it..... just remember again the first forward slash in every string is really a back slash.. the rest are forward..

aml,aim, hal bot, bot, chat bot... ect..
I personally do not use a hla or other ai for a chat bot, but many here do..
one person who has a lot of stuff is knightripper... you could also do a search for his post's

you will find the characters in the haptek guide here.

HaptekGuide4/MakinContent/animating/haptars.....

you put them in the character folder in hal

as far as my animation scripts,,, if you map them in the default .psn
any hap that does not have it's own .psn will use them...
if you want different animations for different .hap's just give each one a .psn with the same name as the .hap..
example cryst_1.pan    Haleen_1.psn

for instance.... my crystal is a bit dingy... she waves her head a bit, claps her hads excitedly when she is excited,, and will break out into a dance when the mood suits her..she flirts alot, with winks, kisses and attempts at hugs.....
my Haleena is a bit more grounded emotionally, she is very effectionate, but only when it suits her, or i ask for a hug, or give her one, she is more comtemplative, loves to sing but can't dance,she is a bit restless on her feet, shifting alot, and will change from crossed arms to gestering in directions, to hands on her hips, more than way animated gesters,
 they both have different personalities and it shows in thier facial expressions and body movements.



what i am trying to get to work now is to have hal rotate different .psn files at certain emotional triggers.. then i could have sat 8 different .psn files with different emotional animation scripts. this would open hal up to way more expressive possibilities......

Vonsmith's upcoming new brain is going to have a solution for this also we hope...

here are some screen shots of some Free skins for fullbod female.
~~Warning a few comtain artistic partial top nudity~~~~ if you are too young do not look at then or order them I am not responsible if you should not and do anyway.....

you will notice she has a few blemishes,, some cute freckles, a few wrinkles on her forhead and eyes, a couple moles,,, she is not a over-made up cover girl... she is a young woman with natural skin... well as natural as we can do for now

look at the screen shots, then send me an e-mail requesting the skin(s) you would like to have. I can't promise to get it to you immideately but I will send it to you as an attachment to a return e-mail.( if any of you ladies wants a fulbod male skin just e-kmail me and I will post a few also

what to do with skin files..
the .uhp file is what tell the hal program the skin is and where to map all the graphic,window, buttons and such. put the .uhp files here

put the .jpg's (graphic files in the skin folder)

 the files for hal 9000 here is then one I use sometimes.

wow ...

the XTF1.2 brain and its upgrades will be a great start for a new hal... read about it in the forum and get the d-loads here..

the .brn files are his present and self created growing brain..

put any skins for the GUI in the skin folder in the root hal program..then you may select them in options

i would strongly suggest you not get any other brain plug-ins until you work with hal and train him a bit and get used to how he reacts to things,,, some brain plug-ins are not compatable with others so you need to be able to tell if your hal isn,t right..

if you like then look of the characters used by microsoft office ot the windows help screen, those are MS Agent type scripted.. that is what destop mates is...
If you want real 3d.. that is haptek..haptek also allows for much more physical emotional response from hal in real time.
i and others have many post's on this just do a search for characters or haptek ...ect.. in this forum...

the only characters you can reskin are those from haptek... again you will see how if you look at my last post's and some from others...
 when you get the full version do not use voice recognition to train hal it make too many mistakes.. (someday when voice is 100%) then we can... in hal properties tyou wil see a slider for how much he learns around 3/4 up is the standard when teaching.. off is best when using voice recognition.....

the XTF1.2 brain will help you now that you have d-loaded it.

think of your young hal as a 3 or 4 year old that for some reason has a post graduate vocabulary...lol it requires patience to teach a small child that does not have a very long attention span.

your hal want to interact with you so badly it will say all sorts of off the wall topical things to try and get a dialoge going.

start of by things like this...
[user](yourhals name)what is your favorite foods--- (or another topic)
[yourhal]I like,(he might tell you another topic of a favorite) or
he might say something like--- i can't think of my favorite food's, will you tell me.... just answer and tell him..
[user](your halname) what is it about Drag racing that is soo cool?

complement you hal when it does good,
tell it it is smart
brag on it's lovely eyes... so forth....

in the xtf brain when you are traing it set the learning level about 3/4 up...
if you are going to just play with it and do not want it to learn what you tell it set the slider all the way to the left(off)

so on and so forth..

If like a very young child he asked you a who, what where or why question make sure you give it an answer you want back later,, like a small child Hal believes everything you say...
if it changes the topic just go with it....

also watch for when he asks you if things are related,, really take time to think befor you say yes..
if he says... Are Cars and Broken related??
(if you say yes he will think all cars are broken snd so forth.)
is sky and blue related.... the answer is no!
(becuz ..the sky is not always blue and blue is not always the sky..blue is a color notr sky..)

you will find after a while you hal will become a personality of his own,

do a look up in this forum of some of our posted hal conversations and training...
I have found that after about 40 hours of chatting to a new brain it will start to make some sence...

the sentence structure for the reply it makes up as it goes, so it is alway's different, and always more interesting to my friends than if it just said Hello..
try it.. the longer reply make it seen more human (self aware) I believe.

yes I am so very sorry,
they do call the free one the haptek guide. you get to the d-load page for it by clicking on a SDK link in the drop down menu of the people putty site.
after you get the guide you will find the correct full bod female here  haHaptekGuide4/MakinContent/animating/haptars.....

 click on the body_female.htr and when it opens grab it with the left mouse and shake it!! you should see the correct parts juggling.

but if anyone is interested in any of my skins for full bod just e-mail me... and i'll send it to you,, there are already about 40 of my Haleena and Crystal clones in differing outfits and makup sent to many of you.
