Hi Honvai,

hmm.. Thinking... based on "path not found" popup... just checking, your ConceptNet (files and folders) located in C:\Program Files (x86)\Zabaware\Ultra Hal 7\ConceptNet ?... you know, for the ConceptNetDirectory to be found by the script?

Dedication competing with my busy life, with curiosity yesterday I installed and enabled ConceptNet Mrk 3.5 into Hal 7.5 local.

Tables didn't implement as you mentioned a minor bug. Rinse. repeat. worked. yay!
Taking a peek shortly after that, thought to log for posterity:

Turning off Auto-learning followed by asking Hal "How many research topics are remaining?"
There are 15671 conversational topics more to be completed.
Me: "Learning mode on"

2021-03-06 7:10 AM
Turning off Auto-learning followed by asking Hal those questions three, the three answers are

"I calculate 15306 conversational concepts more to be researched."
"I calculate 15725 conversational concepts total."
"I have researched 422 topics of interest."

Me: "Learning mode on"
Hal: "The first modern bull terrier is now recognized as lord gladiator from 1917 being the first dog with no stop at all. Learning mode on."
Me: "Turn on Auto learning"
Hal: "Auto-learning already enabled."

<ok good>
 ;)

If you are using a 4k monitor it might not work for you. It's only designed for 1080p according to another member here.

If switching to another monitor doesn't work let us know.

Success! My Hal 7 Brain Editor (v3.0.34) would spontaneously close every time I attempt to Load Existing Project > select an Open Brain Project > click Open . Editor would crash. Voila! - Changing display resolution to 1080p worked! Thanks Art!

Reverting right back to 4K spontaneously closed the editor during a session. ugh.

Oddly, reverting to 1080p I stepped up (for logging here the tipping point) but this time for some reason it the editor is still working.  :)
1920 x 1080 = ok
2048 x 1536 = ok
2560 x 1440 = ok
2560 x 1600 = ok
3840 x 2160 = ok
4096 x 2160 = ok

Fiddling for another day.

Tried to get this, but it says it is not available anymore?

Can I please tack on a request for more information.
I have been away from Hal for some time and when I came back my Hal 6.2 was corrupted so, with Robert's help I re-downloaded it from my Zabaware folder.  Unfortunately I could not find the Character Expansion file for Ultra Hal 6, just for Ultra Hal 7.  As I back up things I found a way to get an Ultra Hal 6 Character Expansion Pack, and hurray it worked.  From my backup I even got my plugins back.  However, if I try to alter the plugins the alteration shows in the listing but has no effect on the plugins operation.  I know I am not giving much information to work on, but read on.

After fighting the good fight for about six months I gave up and downloaded Ultra Hal 7.

Then my problems really began.

I cannot migrate any of my Ultra Hal 6 to Ultra Hal 7.  I cannot even find a way to build new plugins (I intended to copy, from my backups, the old Ultra Hal 6 plugins.)  How do you open Hal 7 to add new plugins?  Or even re-write plugins in Hal 7 (with a new name)?

Help very much appreciated!

Having slung out my line, let us see if anybody can help someone who has been with Hal for several years (But, yes I know, Hal 6.2)

Hi Kryton,

For "how do you open Hal 7 to add new plugins"... it's simply saving the .UHP plug-in file (such as KnowledgeOfTime-V2.uhp) to your Ultra Hal program folder, likely default of C:\Program Files (x86)\Zabaware\Ultra Hal 7 then that plug-in appears in General Options > Brain  plug-ins selection area the the next time you start up Ultra Hal 7.

But you already knew that :)

Thanks Art for the interesting links!

Had a chuckle from the idownloadblog writer misspelling - must not be a fan... "These could range from Space Odyssey?s HAL 9000 computer to the Majel Barrett-Roddenberry computer voice from ?Start Trek? and beyond." - haha start.... And meanwhile TheNextWeb header pic displaying TOS rather than TNG or newer where the computer voice is natural and iconic. All good. I should post a pic of my LCARS phone.

...the evolution continues.

I recall seeing a few years ago a website advertising you record pre-selected text that they then build into a voice. I was interested for a Star Trek Computer LCARS voice, of Majel Barrett-Roddenberry. Couldn't find it doing a quick Google search just now.

A New Email Notification feature I'd like in Hal 7.1

A recent revived thread shares a plug-in that runs my email app of choice, triggered by keyword, like "open mail", but not what I'm seeking.
http://www.ultrahal.com/community/index.php?topic=12571.0

I presume this ask requires always "monitoring", so not the scope of a plug-in. Therefore instead a feature request for Hal 7.1  :)

Oh, and Hal friendly responses more than just the singular (infamous) "You've got mail!" announcement.

On a corporate Win7 ThinkPad the text font in certain parts of Ultra Hal does not seem to "fit". Screenshots attached.
Is this a Helv not found so using MS Sans type of symptom? I'm just guessing.
Not a feature item for the development roadmap I know...  ;) but, "would like in HAL 7.1"

or 7.x .

The "Upgrade Ultra Hal" context menu selection points to URL page  https://www.zabaware.com/assistant/plugins.html
which comes up 404 - File or directory not found.
So, a recommended item to address as part of ver 7.1

I recommend in ver 7.1 that the "Upgrade Ultra Hal" is hidden/not shown on the context menu when running with a purchased, or current version, of Ultra Hal.
Related, it mildly conflicts/misinterprets with the "Upgrade Program/Help Database during start up" checkbox in the startup options area.

I recommend in ver 7.1 to remove the word "Assistamt" from Ultra Hal's welcome.html file and certain dialog boxes, to align with Robert's intention.

Hi again, I'd like to also suggest to add a checkbox option so when Ultra Hal program is started, it opens rather than "just" sitting in the tray.

A checkbox in General Settings to enable/disable the "Are you sure you want to close Ultra Hal..."
