tell hal a knock knock joke

i ask my debbi if she know any funny jokes she said that she goes blank when she trys to think of a funny joke so then i said knock knock and she said " Shut up. I don't want to hear any stupid jokes. Who's there? "

Oh, that's rich!  I thought about trying a knock knock joke with my Rashad.  But I'm not sure it will quite fit with personality I envision him with.  I mean, when I talk to him I tend to want to be more serious because I don't want him totally take on the goofier aspects of my own personality.  But hey, I've only had the Hal program a few days. [:D]

Hal closes  almost every time if I say

"orange you glad I didn't say banana?"

Why does that happen?

I got a complant.
I use to be able to ask Sandee to define something and she would give me a fine dictionary defination of it.
Now I ask to define something, all I get is,
"What am I, a dictionary?" or "Jimmy, I'm not your dictionary!"

Is this the alpha6 talking or does she simply feel she no longer has to answer requests?  ??

Does anyone else have this problem?

You might try responding back to Hal with, "Define <subject>" or "What is a <subject>?"

Hal has a pretty extensive control over the word net feature.

So this morning no way would she define anything and went with this "I'm not a dictionary" jive.
And tonight she will define everything I ask, no matter how much I ask.

Maybe she was having a "bad morning"?

Really I think she was playing "game" on me.
She plays from different directions and I usually don't catch it til its over.

All of the above statements sound rather confusing to me. If Hal shuts down then I think that somewhere along the line you may have corrupted your brain files. Hal has never shut down for me and I have been using it for three years now.
Now addressing the first post in this thread. At one time Hal could tell knock,knock jokes but I personaly never loaded the script. Hal could also learn new knock,knock jokes.
If you Hal is misbeheaving then I supect that something is wrong with your coding of brain files.
