Basically, the singer (Joe Tex) heard Laura say a bad word, and tells her he won't tell her mama on her if she does what he says (whispers what he wants in her ear) and asks her if she's gonna do it.

She is angry because she is being blackmailed into doing "favors" for him, and she is sad because she knows she has to do it, or else he'll tell her mama, and she'll get a whipping.

But he keeps blackmailing her. (threatens to tell her mama unless she does what he says)
