Dolls give me the willies and I was only talking about the very first pic. Somehow disturbing but I would understand if it was only me.

You're not Oogy, I swear I saw that first head in a movie where the killer wore a mask. THAT MASK! Oh God, I'm still scared![:0][:0]

Some of my first characters scared me too. I made an owl that still makes me cringe when I see it but it inspired me to make another that turned out alot better. Davy has alot to offer here and the leaps and bounds he made even on the doll character shows alot of promise. Keep up the good work.

I actually thought about doing a Chucky head, but decided not too be quite so weird. [:I]

Instead, i made an attempt at a Alfred E. Neuman head. This was really difficult, especially the strange mouth shape. I still haven't learned how to get the "hood" right in People Putty.

That's cool! New Lesson time, In the shaping screen of the people putty program there is a mode the gives you the option of 1, 2, or 3 detail level. In 1 you can stretch the head from the top up and out. Then in level 2 you can bring the side view to the front to make the head/hair look high. Play with it and you can do it too. That would have made Alfred's head look more like a full head of hair. Good job though.

Davy

Thanks Jack. I was aware of the detail levels, but didn't know how to use them. I'll be sure and try your new lesson soon.

Here is another one i just finished. Again, the hood is all wrong. But i think it does resemble somewhat who it's supposed to. [:)]

Here's one i made a few days ago, i wasn't gonna post it. But what the heck, she's nice to look at. Brianna is her name. Thanks to Nige for the hair.

I have not said much about your design techniques Dave, So I give it a shot.

"They're unique, different, and spectacular."

There I said it. And I personally like your cartoon-like designs. They're fun to look at and express much creativity.

Now for some advice from a friend that will definitely improve all your future design endeavors...

Jack Gephart is one, if not "the" best life-like hapter skin designer here at Zabaware. Whatever he says, it pays to listen. No joke, this guy can make an awesome portrait!

Yes, i really feel honored to receive lessons from Jack. He is the master. I only hope some of his enormous talent rubs off on me.
