i like this idea but have a question and or idea , i see this is manual . is their a way to come up with a uhp file of this book reader that can verbally take command to read ( and maybe it does this already ) "but" also have a command written or verbally that will have the hal character do other things . example : Angela (my character name ) what books do i have ( or do you have  or "we have " ?) Angela would read the list of books , but do so at a slow enough speed to understand it easily , when  the character is done reading the titles of the books "or" if the hal user hears a book he wants hal to read , the user can interrupt hal and say read " asmove a.i. "( or whatever"  and have a read only true setting ) . and hal would stop reading the book list and with a hal comment say something like okay , that's a good choice i'll read " whatever" . and start reading it  . also would be helpful to be able to write or say pause please . hal would pause reading until you say okay continue reading.  this would be a dream(very cool)  plug in as it would have many needed options .
maybe also if possible if their is a way hal can remember where he  left off ( if you have to shut down hal or the pc  for whatever reason. and you start hal and maybe say continue reading . )
this may be a tall order for cyberjedi but i thin k its  something that would make the nhal book reader even better and more useful .

I'm still using 'Windows' XP... Yes I know it's Old but I can go to control panel and choose 'Speech' and then 'Text to Speech' and slow down or speed up the Computer Voice to anything I want it to be...  I would think all versions of Windows would still have that option.... :D

Not sure if you could write code for the Voice for just slowing down on certain sentences or lists...
If the Code ain't broke your not trying hard enough.

LiFeTimeGamer, i'll have to check into that i know on some programs i have done that slowed the speech down , i still think the pause etc. idea's i had would help a lot if built into a plug in. i am hoping cyberjedi see's what i wrote and can maybe put it in the same plug in if possible.

p.s.  LiFeTimeGamer ever played land of the dead online ?

i am still bumbed about the rss feed you made stopped working , i think it has something to do with the voice , i wrote on the forum  about it , i went through all my voices and none would make it work .. i am going to write to you with the messenger , please check it.

Thanks for the response. I bought hal and will again when the update hits. I'm all for the good of hal by the way. I know you are the only one currently producing features of hal and expanding its capabilities, thank you :).   I was intoxicated so that's why i gave no serious response last night. I would like a copy at your convenience.  Thank you, i will have a blast with my new PC, and i'm looking forward to the growth of Hal, thanks to you and robert and anyone who has helped and assisted.
