I am running windows xp pro and for some reason have no SDK 5.1 on my system and microsoft site wont let me download so I was wondering if anyone knows a good freeware speech recognition software/engine so I can speak with hal using voice.

Microsoft's Speech Recognition is standard on Windows XP and works pretty well with SAPI compliant TTS voices / software.

Don't know WHY MS wouldn't let you download it from their site? DO you?

well if we cant find materialsthat perfonm speech recognition by thmeselves than talking over a computer might make it impossble to ever make a speech recognition perfect robot that wont fall apart,.,

anyway if you cna remember what all the s words mean than you can never understnad it and just play a game every day
