help!!!

Hello everyone,
    I have uninstalled and reinstalled both Hal 6.2 and the character package and I am getting an error and shut down message when I try and open up Hal's Options.  The program loads great, it even allows the user interface to open up.  but when I try to open up the general options;  the screen freezes for about 10 seconds and then I get an error message that says the Ultra Hal must shut down, and gives me the error message: Appname: Halasst.exe           Appversion:6.2.0.24       Modname: 0.0.0.0             Offset:0303bea
   As I stated everything works perfectly until I try and adjust the general Options.  Anyone plus assist!  Thank you Guys

P.S. I am at the public library but I will be leaving for about 3 hours, but I will be checking back later today.  again thank you guys!
