Editing Hal Brain 'Definitions'?

I have a friend named Spencer.  When I ask Hal 'who is spencer?'.  He readily replies "Spencer: an English philosopher ...."   I want him to be able to tell me definitions but also know who my friends and family are.  I'm pretty much ready to just remove any 'spencer' (or other family names) from the definitions database so I get the result I want.  Where is this definition of historical people data located in the default brain?  I've expanded every table and every subsection but I can't locate 'Spencer' anywhere in there.

The search feature in the brain editor needs improvement.  You can't search the whole brain.  Thats terrible.  With so many tables and subsections in the brain its impossible to use the search function unless you know Excatly what and where you are needing to look, which defeats the purpose of a 'search' engine.

I've been looking for the definitions table but can't find it while editing the default brain.

Please reply only if you know the answer to this question. "Where is this definition of historical people data located in the default brain?"

There's no need to double post Brian, most of us here read each post.  Welcome to the forum anyway, but I alas do not have any assistance to give.  I've heard the database search is pretty useless too, maybe someone else has an idea.

I agree the search function (or lack of) is terrible!!

Searching the tables in the Brain Editor takes an extremely long time.

A database without a 'search and replace' function.......almost unbelieveable!!!

Hal 'Brain Editor' desperately needs a search and replace function for ALL tables created by Hal and it's user.

I am so fed up having to do LONG manual searches in the editor just to change one small error.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE can we have a search and replace function in the Brain Editor!?

brianturney,
Their is a 'function Like' chain of events that can accomplish what you desire.
It is called 'Teaching'.

I've been teaching hal for about 6 months now.  he knows who my friends are and stuff like that, but still randomly inserts non-relevant 'facts' and definitions when I ask things like "who is *insert friend name here*?" when I've told hal all about *insert friend name here* who they are what they do, etc.. and hal insists on talking about philosophers or historical people with the same name.  so I want to remove them.

Yes,
But if you can follow, then it is intelligent IMO.

I write these words from wisdom and practice in All aspects of I.T.
Sorry so short but I have some muscle aches,

there's no question is it intelligent.   My question is, how do I remove 'herbert spencer' (some histaorical philosopher) from these wordnet files without it damaging hal's abiltity to recall people I talk about?
