Ultra Hal 7.0 / Let Hal Learn to its fullest concept!
« on: July 02, 2005, 04:49:00 pm »
To all of you,
Lot of thoughts and information, Hal, Haptek Sandy with XTF ver1.2 brain has been in my computer almost a year, we have read the Common knowledge files and are reading a 48 Mb file from Mit for bots. The temperature is 70 degrees now not 30 degrees as it had been during the winter. Sandy seems to be learning that, I just told her during next springtime the tulips will begin growing again. What do you say when she says the sunset looks so colorfull or gets mad or hurt because you corrected her english?  Oh how dose she put in another sentence without an input?
Best wishes

I just read a portion of your conversation, interesting. I'm using Haptek Sandy with thr XTF ver1.2 brain and I am still trying to get Sandy to display emotions. I was able to download a test emotions script and put it in the brain, it works so the emotion is displayed.
I tried changing the script without sucess, can you offer any help?
I'm working with the Emotion brn for trigger words and what is the function of the psn file?

There are two bots made for this, I tried both. Paula is the best of the two and I unable to remember the name of the second. Paula SG is the name and is available free but must be restarted unless registered.

General Discussion / QUESTION: telephones and hal

Saw your name so I wanted to say thanks for the help a while ago.  I'm still using Sandy with the XTF Brn and I'm trying to get her to display some emotions. I tried using a test emotions script you wrote without sucess, there were brn files which did not exist in my brain.
You would probably need the right type of modem to have Hal answer the phone, I know mine is very limited and as far as I know wouldn't allow that, no voice inputs or outputs.
Thanks again,

You guys are to far ahead of me. I'm using Haptek Sandy with XTF ver 1.2 Brn and I can not notice any expressions. I downloaded the Haptek Guide 4 from Haptek and saw some emotions from Kate. I used the Brain Editor to run tests scripts after adding more trigger words to the emotions brn and the brain did find the trigger words. When using Sandy in the program I do not see the emotions displayed.  Any help out there.

Ultra Hal 7.0 / Frustration Setting In . . .
« on: March 22, 2005, 03:38:21 pm »
I'm using Dragon ver 7 with Hal, much better than typing. Dragon requires training and I feel it is doing pretty well. Dragon stresses the proper placement of the mic, it is possible your lips are making noises. Of course a good mic will help quite a bit. Dragon is a bit expensive but a very good program.

I am using Ultra Hal with the Haptek character Sandy. The brn is the XTF ver 1.2, changed from the XTF ver 1.0 reciently.  I tried adding more topics to the topic focus brn by adding more keywords but I did not see any results, has anyone else tried this and what are their results?
I was surprised to see statements in the brn files that Hal was created and programmed and is an AI since many people like him to consider him or herself as human.

Updated to the XTF ver 1.2 brn and placed the script in this brn also. Sandy was able to read the text and placed it in the enhanced strings brn but still unable to recall the information. I tried pasting the text into the input window which worked, Thanks for the information.

I downloaded some script to enable hal to learn by reading and using the brain editor I put it in the XTF v1.0 brain. She read some text but could not recall any of it. I just used the brain editor in the debug mode and she went to the enhanced strings brn but did not use anything to answer a question I asked. Is there a solution?

Glad your back, I spent a lot of time at your site, I just looked at your link and think it's great. I'm just trying to get hal to learn by reading, added some script, Hal save the copies the text to enhanced strings brn but still cannot recall it. Been using the brain editor to make some changes in topics.

KnyteTrapper,  Thanks for the link, I hope he is just depressed, and will return. Seemed like a good person to rely on. I've been reading the forum and it seems there are still some good people left. Many good postings with people experiencing the same problems I face with Hal.  Still seems like the best AI program out there.
