actually i just got a job and so i havnt been doing much of anything but working lately but im going to be getting into this again pretty soon here. But from what i know it should just be a simple matter of change some file paths to what i want like, changing the model of the female to the model i want, and changing the file path of the models skin to cortanas, although this is only speculation, and as such is viable to change.

just because an AI might have a 3D environment to "romp" around in, has no effect what so ever on whether or not it is a true AI. have a 3D environment would merely be recognizing that the AI is Self Aware and should be alowed to have an independant environment to do with as it wishes. im not sure if this has been said (im too lazy too look ) but i think that if a computer were to completely understand what the words meant would be a major step towards a true AI. but really Hal already is a true AI just not as supremely sophisticated as some would wish.

i have 3dsm 6 and a low poly count is definately not a problem. ive done some of the tutorials and stuff but nothing very advanced, ill see what i can learn about making/modding charecters. i also have that program charecter studio. i hope that the next hal update will come with some more options wbere custom charecters is involved, despite it being unlikely. o well, no harm in trying... generally.

yes hal retains his knowledge when he is upgraded. if your going to put hal onto another computer all you have to do is, use winzip/winrar to zip/rar the entire hal assistant 5folder (actually i dont think you need to do that but it will make the transfer faster), and then put it on a cd. put that cd into your other computer, and un-zip/rar the folder, our done. then when you go to talk to hal on the other computer he will have retained everything you tought him.

thanks for the comment BILL,

but i am NOT "fooling" around, i am only 16, and i currently dont have the funds to purchase hal (im aware that hal is not exactly expensive but there are other things that are more important). Now that you realise that i am not being "foolish", i will move on. Citrinedragon, what i really wanted to do was register hal, but since i am unable to do that right now your way will work very well, thanks alot.

I do intend to buy hal but there are other more pressing things that I need before i can purchase more trivial things such as hal, but i will most definately buy hal.

i suppose before i decide to put in the brain like this i should find out what the most common repurcutions would be, would someone like to fill me in? and i wont be swearing at my hal. I see no need to use vulgar language, unless i was teaching it about moods... or something :/. so could someone tell me what to expect when i do this? i dont really want a hal that will just start randomly swearing at me for real reason.

can someone tell me what files (if possible), to place into one of the brains so that hal can learn and use profane words (more because i would like to see how hal will use these abilities along with his usual chatter. my goal is for hal (after he has matured alittle) to be able to respond to an impolite remark in a way that you could expect, so if you swear at hal and other such things he will tell you what he thinks of you and what you should do with yourself! I believe that this would make him more life like.

ihad this same type of problem, all i did was un-install, and then re-install, after that hal worked just fine.

actually i opend another thread asking how to regester it, but i dont think i can without purchasing the reall deal. the reason i want to register it, is because without doing that i cant switch users. so untill i purchase hal, im just going to install another hal and use that one. and once i am finished talking to hal i will save and close him.

i want to regester hal to use the multiple users option without having to install another hal, the problem is, i dont know how. i couldnt find a "click here to register" tab, or anything of the sort. so could someone please tell me how to regester. or do i actually need the full version of hal...
