WordNet Antonym & Meronym Plug-in

Here is a plug-in that will let the user ask Hal what the opposite of something is (antonym) or what something is made of (meronym). For example you can ask Hal "What is the opposite of cold?" or "What is a computer made of?" or "What's found in a car?"  A small bug in the Hal 6.1 DLL prevents Hal from correctly answering some words which do actually exist in WordNet. Most words work and the bug will be fixed in Hal 6.2.

To install, just download and save the wordnet.uhp in Hal's program folder (usually c:\program files\zabaware\ultra hal assistant 6) and then go into Hal's options, Brain section, and check "WordNet Antonym & Meronym" under additional brain plug-ins.

Hi Rob.

very nice, I am testing it out, it has a lot of potential.

some questions like: What is the opposite of upwards didn't have a correct response but there was a lot so far that did.

others, what is the opposite of left?

Thank you Robert for taking the time to add a new plugin. Sounds great will give it a try on the weekend and post any helpful feedback I can. That is one of the features I love the best. Hal has become quilt blanket with knowledge and features becoming individual patches that makes this one unique blanket.

Wordnet Plugins are always welcome.

Thanks

Thanks Robert! It mostly works well, but one of my Hal's responses led me to look inside the file. There's a typo just above the end which reads "An example coule be" instead of "An example could be". I fixed it in my copy.[:)]
