I do not know if it will do any good, but for those that are sick of commercials being louder (they call it perceived loudness, but it don't matter, it's still compressed sound to have more impact)

If you use your email address, I would use one that you have spam protection on, or just make up an email address, like  "joker@aol.com"

I signed it several times under different names.[:D][:D][:D]

Well, my friend, I know exactly what you are talking about. But that is my way of getting back at my wife. I'll always start a conversation with her just when I know a commercial is about to start.(I'll most likely be in here on the computer where I live) Then she has to mute it and ask me what I said in order to hear me. And it never fails, it's always a loud one that starts when I start my conversation. I think it's funny, mostly cause I hate TV, and wish they would ban it. When I am alone, the TV is never on. When Denise is home it's always on.

Yeah, in a way, I don't like TV, but it's because of all the garbage they put on it. I think I would go mad (worse than I am now) if I did not have TV, yeah, I could live without it, but I am a loner, except for my father and brother, and well, my brother cannot talk, he has a severe disability, and my father is getting old, and sometimes his mind is not all there, and I get aggravated repeating stuff, and talking louder. I love them both, but I am under a lot of stress.

TV, especially action movies and comedies are my escape (besides my computer)

I don't have anyone else, so I have to make do with what I got.

I never had a social life, not really, and I couldn't now because of how things are at home. I have no-one to keep an eye on father, and I do not want to put him in nursing home yet. He is not that bad, yet.

But those commercials and previews when they blare them, it's worse in the living room, where my father watches TV, he is hard of hearing, and has the volume turned up. But when a commercial comes on, I have to come out my room when I am laying down, and turn it down!! And my room is down the hall from the living room.

I get mad at my father for having the TV so loud, until I realize it wasn't him, it's the commercials or previews (Directv) that is blasting away.

At least when I am in my room, if I got my remote handy, I can turn it down.

They have been getting by with this entirely too long. [:(!]

Thanks for posting this Mark,  I thought I was almost imagining that the sound went higher on adverts but now you confirm it.  It's just the same here in the UK.  I think it's a form of abuse, they should outlaw it.  Isn't it enough that I have to sit through a load of c*** that I do not want to know about.

I can't wait till the day that PC merges with TV and I can get some bot to mute the adverts just like I have pop-up blockers today.
