how to get hal to differentiate

Any clues on how to get hal to ignore the programming that makes him/her think you are adding a trait to him/her?

I said to hal: You are welcome

and got this answer

I think you have to go into the brain editor and in the list are tables within those tables should be welcome or something simlur  , you would have to edit within that , if ever doing any editing always , always make back ups first . i am not thinking clearly today do to health reasons someone else can go into further and better detail in this on the forum .
