Error 445
« on: May 04, 2005, 10:18:40 pm »
I am trying to get Ultra Hal to pronounce my name correctly. To do this I am editing the dictionary. I hit ADD and then exit. I get the

Error 445
Object Doesn't support this action.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks

Hi Tiedchi.

Please place the entire modified code you had an error with so we can correct it.

Sounds like you are not calling something correctly.
Jerry.

Thank you for your attention. I will try to be more careful in my description.

I am trying to edit the dictionary so that Ultra Hal to pronounce my name correctly.
I go to Options, Speech,pronounciation,edit.
I am using the dictionary found in  C:WINDOWSLHSPU0.DCB (British English)- the default setting
In the Source Text box I enter: gairie
I click on the buttion: Convert
In the destination box I see: #'gE.R+i#
I click on: Add
I click on :Exit
A window opens with this message:Do you want to save the changes to C:|WINDOWSLHSPU0.DCB?
I select: 'Yes'
A window opens with this message: Runtime Error '445' Object doesn't support this action.
Ultra Hal closes.

Hope this makes more sense.
Thanks[:D]

Change the pronounciation from gairie to Gare ree if possible within the file you mentioned.

Robert may know more about this than I.

Jerry.

Thanks for the suggestion. Didn't work. I'll keep trying other options.
