I haven't had a chance to really get into the workings of Hal 6 yet. I'm sure most XTF Brain functions can be rewritten for Hal 6. I think this will be a great for Hal.
I believe from studying your code and Hal 6's code that most of the functions can be ported. However I haven't liked to attempt too much because I'm not so familiar with Hal 5, so Hal 6 may have been upgraded in ways that render parts of XTF obsolete, or even worse, incompatible. I'm sure you'll have no difficulty figuring out which parts should be rewritten!
I've already partially adapted your nickname code for Hal 6, I hope you don't mind [

As for the actual core XTF system, I've avoided analysing your routines too much, not least because of your comment in the code:
'Because of the complexity of this script the author does
not recommend that the end user make any changes. Many of the XTF
subfunctions are highly interrelated and even minor changes may cause
unintended and difficult to trace side effects.

But again I gather Hal 6 has been upgraded in this area (for example, using WordNet to assist with focus) so I didn't want to break what may already be fixed.
Looking forward to your analysis, if you wish to do so [
