Access MDB and Hal
« on: April 12, 2006, 02:50:38 am »
I have an Access database of customers. The database shows information like username, first name, last name, country, etc.

Can I somehow link Hal to this database so we can discuss the customers?
I would like to ask Hal questions like who is ID 302?
or what is Fred Jones ID number?

I appreciate that having a conversation with Hal is the best way, but I have hundreds of customers and is not practical to discuss each one in length.

If I cannot link the databases, what is the best way to copy the information into Hals brain.

note: each of my customers has about 6 items of Data I would like Hal to learn

in hal you use two columned tables, i have found the best way is to create the tables in hal then open acesss db and cut and paste across
then write the respond / sql search associaated with retreving the data in hal

first colum will be the primry key , the second the data ie address,

each subsequent table will have the same primary key, second colum is then next data ie name

then you have a relational table
