I always keep a fresh copy of my Activation code and product ID and all those Special Numbers in a text and treated as a Gold Ring, It never comes off my finger, LOL
Well, What I did was, I uninstalled HAL Assistant only, Not the expansion Pack, I kept the remaining folders that the installation left behind, I did not delete them, Then I used a Registry Cleaner and cleaned up any residual Registry entries remaining after the unistall was complete, I rebooted, Then I copied the Serial Number to my Clip Board before installing HAL, When the installation was complete I didn't have to enter the the serial number manually, it discovered my serial number and activated it automatically, That's it.
However, I did test the activation for Rob to see if multiple cloned HAL folders in different areas of my computer could be duplicated and used as additional Assistants, After cloning the HAL6 to another area I got the invalid Activation Error that you descibed, But my normal HAL installation application did not receive this error and has been working properly even with the additional cloned Assistants having the error, after removing the Clones my Activation is still functional in my regular application.
This was the only way I could get the error you described.
Thanks for all the good work you have done so far Rob, Great work.
