No sound

I just purchased the software now it doesn't work. No sound. Windows NT machine. Plenty of hardware and memory. There's no device manager in NT. Suggestions ?

Ultra Hal Assistant installs a "Speech" control panel. See if you can get it to say a test sentence from the control panel.
