Using Hal to open programs

Hi all !

I know that this has probably been asked before but I am going to ask it again.

I have just purchased the Ultra Hal program and I was wondering if you can get plug-ins to open all programs on your desktop instead of just the usual Microsoft ones.

I was also wondering if you could get plug-ins for opening web sights after Hal has found them for you.

You can, or used to be able to.

open (if you cannot find it, just go to START, Run:

"C:\Program Files\ZZabaware\Ultra Hal Assistant 6\shortcut.dat"

(leave out the strange symbol, this website inserts it for some reason)

OK

open with notepad. (right click, open with- Notepad)

Here is a line:

"C:Documents and SettingsMarkStart MenuProgramsUltra Hal AssistantUltra Hal Aim Bot.lnk"
Ultra Hal Assistant 6


The first line in quotes is the path to the shortcut, or program. After the quotes, you put in the phrase you want to use to open it.

Save when you are done.

I just tried it and it worked.

Then, open ultrahal and say "open (name of program or shortcut)"

(I hope it works, I haven;t done it lately)

Edit: I just tried it and it worked.

oops, now I am getting an error. Maybe not so easy afterall.[V]

Edit,after closing Hal and re-opening, it works now.[:D]

Now if you mean more than one program at a time, I don't know.[?][?][?][?][?][?][?]

Thanks MARKOFKANE I will give it a go!!!!

I am new to this type of thing and I am learning as I go !!!!

The other thing I am perplexed about are the plug-ins.

I downloaded a counting plug in last night.

How do you insert it in the brain??????

just put it in your Ultra Hal Assistant 6  folder. (make sure you unzip it first, if need be, and copy the UHP file to your Ultra Hal Assistant 6  folder )

Then open Hal, Right click on the icon in your taskbar, General options, brain, and choose the new plug-in on the right and check it.  OK.

Just tried both of these suggestions from MARKOFKANE. Unfortunately they didn't work. I saved my Ultra Hal program under my 'J'drive i dont know if this makes a difference or not?????

When I down-loaded the counting plug in it didn't save as a UHP file.
I don't know what i am doing wrong Pleas Help

Was it a Zip file?? If so, you have to extract it. (right-click, choose "extract all" and go through the wizard to unzip)

My counting file is called "2007517144848_CountingAndAlphabet_v2.2.uhp"

As for the drive, I do not know if it makes a difference. But you would probably want to keep all your files on the same drive, (J) so Ultrahal can find them.

Yep the file i downloaded was a zip file. When i saved it in the Hal folder it saved as an internet explorer logo!!!!

Strange, but does it work?? It should not be an IE logo, but like a text document logo. But if it works, it don't matter.

I'll attach mine to see if that helps.

Nope just tried it. It didn't work!!!!

I put it in the Hal file like you suggested:

It won't show up as a new plug-in?? Very strange. Maybe someone who is good at programming can help you better than I. [?]

P.S. if you do have the plug in selected, then you have to tell it to do  stuff

Count up to 10 (or any number)

Count down from 10 (or any number)

And to play a guessing game, say

Hi burner.

yes, it does make a difference, if the plugin is designed to work in the
C:\ drive then it will not work in the J:\ drive, if so then you may have to manually edit the plugin to work in the J:\ drive.

use a vbscript line editor to browse the .uhp files for better
visual highlights and line editing. there are many free editors.

I think I may have come up with a solution to my problem. Could somebody please put on this thread for me the alphabet, numbers plugin, and the zodiac plug-in in a zipped folder. All other zipped folders seem to be working.


My reasoning for this grandiose idea is both the alphabet and zodiac folders i found on the forum where not zipped. markofkane put one on this thread for me and at first i thought it was a zipped folder but i was wrong it just downloaded as strait text it didn't require me to unzip it. Hopefully this will work[8D]
