installing problems with vista

I installed ultra hal on my xp computer and it works fine. On my new vista machine, hal loads and plays the intro but does not appear on the screen. My vista has microsoft speech recognizer 8.0 for windows which can be used to verbally operate the screen. My xp machine has v5.1. Anyone know why vista won't load properly or let hal popup on the screen?

I don’t have vista but have you tried running Hal in vista in xp compatibility mode.

Right click the HalAsst.exe, properties, compatibility.

If it doesn’t work in XP compatibility, you could try one of the others.
