Hal and robotics

Hello I'm new here but after having a little chat with hal and getting the 31 day free trial I just may get this software
but before that I have to ask has anyone attempthed to use this software with robotics if not then I will try a go at it
this will be a great start for combining to making advanced robots
I also want to state I had no idea that this topic has been brought up or if this is the right forum to post this message after all i'm new

Years ago I bought a very basic robotic platform. Its software run on a laptop and that sits on the robotic frame. It has very limited voice recognition and excellant vision recognition. You speak a word or two and then program the robot to respond with specific actions.
Until I discovered Hal I had no real interestin that machine but then it hit me both brains could be run at the same time and it turns out to be a very easy thing to do.
The company that made the basic platform that I purchased was called Evolution Robotics, but unfortunately they no longer sell robots.
however the owner og this sit is investigating another robotic platform to see if Hal can be intergrated into it at the same time.
Search this site a little deeper and you will find all kinds of info.

Short answer is yes.

With additional scripts and maybe some interface programs you should be able to get Hal to do almost anything. I've seen people basically roboticize their whole house with Hal. Firing off a few solenoids should be easy.

@bill 819 that robot is the ER1 I heard of it and wanted one so I can fully customize it

my skills are shakey at best meaning I can design the robot but programming is a different story...for now
my idea is to use hal on a motherboard and then use a servo control board to control servos it's a good start I just need to gather more info

I believe Will is using parts from Robotrix
It's kind of like a pet dog, he is waiting for
the day that he connects the USB REVA&B and can
transfer data towards leg and foot control
He is always open for suggestions on success
That or a million dollars, hmm

Will would a Million dollars fix the damage to
His face,and give full functionality back?
I would probably shake down the host co.
for kickbacks/discounts especially if the see what
had been done already.Poor Mr. Data heh Poor Will

All that you need is built into ER1. That is what I have been trying to get accross to you. The programming language is ER1 is extremely basic and easy to use.

a nice goal sounds good, success sounds nice, if its nice then i like the sound of it, this nice progression sounds nicer, i wish you nice success, nicer than, some nice sounds good, nice can be like a direction, generally nice, inevitably some nice!

sorry i've been away for a bit tring the 31 trial edition
hal or in my case "bit" is quite a fast learner
plus I can change what he says in hin his databanks quite simple I might add quite a joy to talk with I'll surely get hal now
now I may try a new robot system i've been working on to boot
I just gotta work with hal vision


but for now i'm going to start my net-navi project
it'll take less time and parts

Does Hal work with that program? If so, you need to just follow the instructions. In the end, though, you should have a goal in mind.

I've been checking out hal's brain editor software
it's pretty solid in terms of intergrating it with a robot
but what suprizes most is the programs that can be intergrated with it hal can be written to do many things [}:)] that is if the person is able to write the programs currently I'm tring to see can hal work with c++ or python as for my navi project I plan on intergrating a anti-virus scanner to it so I can verbally command it to csann and delete viruses I suppose i'm rambling but working with the trial edition pretty much sold me on hal
