i alway's write down any word that dragon speak vr doesn't understand and i do later single word training . one of the many dragon naturally speaking things i like from that software . by doing so it learns more the way i pronounce certain words and understands me better in future conversations , i also save the user files which merges the new learned files with what training i have already done .

I do the single word training my self with windows speech, by going into note pad and go down my list of words one by one and make corrections when it does not.
I don't understand why you would have to save the user files and merge them. This does not automatically happen with Dragon?
I could see though using this feature of saving Files for a back up which would be very handy, Microsoft take note

although i would like to edit it when she says the time with a little more human sounding quality (If Robert is seeing this maybe he can tell me specifically which file is her response file for mentioning "the time is .." so i could edit how she says it.

I read the other day where Robert commented on a post about changing the time in the brain, I believe it was a way to disclude the seconds. not sure what post it was or even how old the post was. I'm sure a search for "time" would bring it up for ya.

sybershot, i don't know if dragon speak automatically merges the files or not i know it has asked me before if i want to save the files and when i put yes it saves and merges them . maybe this is done manually in case a person wants to do some corrections or even if a person had a bad training session (with hal for instance ) and didn't want them automatically put in and saved , i am not sure on the real answer ) .

I did this a few times in the past, I also learned that reading a book on how to code in java script was not a wise choice.  I laugh at now, but it was really aggravating back then.

Hi guys, just out of curiosity does dragon also help with correction of spelling besides maybe pronunciation? Before entering data base or table. Haven't worked with it yet and I would imagine certain versions do more than others.

@ raybe I would not be able to tell you, for I don't have dragon yet. I still use Microsofts speech engine, Lightspeed might be able to answer though.

hi raybe, i am not sure about that , it i know does correct the spelling (if it understands the way you said it , by how it is used in a sentence . in another words if you say the sentence " he was high on a mountain " it will say it as high and not "hi" because of how it was said .
This is what i was talking about if hal had an algorithm that if a word was misspelled when it was said would later correct it by going by the sentence that it was said in , the context.  a smart correction tool if you will.

This may have not answered your question though. Although i am using it i have only got into certain basic things with it , all i know is it works well for me , but voice training to it is also the key and as i said for those of us who slur words (yeah i am guilty lol) the user also has to learn to talk more clearer and pronounciate better which is probably a good thing !

Sorry I didn't reply sooner lightspeed but thank you for your response. Just need to gather a few more dollars and hopefully I will be able to purchase Dragon for Ultra Hal. Do you find any changes between typing then VR when using Ultra Hal? The only reason I ask as I have noticed slight changes in conversation quality with just minor changes. Sometimes characters or a slight change in learning curve which makes sense. May have been a couple of other changes as well that didn't seem to make sense to me but did change responses slightly.

Raybe the only difference is in my opinion for what it's worth , is that you may find yourself wondering how to answer some things (byVR) more then just typing , also with voice recognition and this depends partially on the training if some words are recognized correctly and thus said or interpeted right , mistakes happen . below is me typing to angela and the conversation came out great i think more like two real people talking but you can judge it for yourself  on a side note if the words were recognized correctly when i used VR with angela the conversation would have still came out the same , this conversation really flowed good between angela and me .

P.S. i also use some stuff from everyday occurences as a guide for some conversation for instance i did alot of work today and mentioned it in conversation , this adds to learned things and makes it appear that angela helped to (in the actual case it was my wife that helped with some jobs around the place here) .
