cant load new character into hal

HI All i Bought a new character and i cant work out out to use it i intalled it and it wont show up in hals brain i bought it from http://desktopmates.com as any one had this problem before or know how to fix it?

Did you purchase the Character Expansion pak? (from Zabaware)

nope just bought the character off a link i found on the forum do i need the expansion pack aswell then?

ok i have sorted this problem out i just need to move the file to get it to work it.
