Yep, you now have choices and you can even talk to Hal via Credits and GPT-3 in a Cloud but there is no learning (at this time).

Most plugins still work within some considerations like the version for which it was written.

The Wikipedia plugin is really nice for providing detailed Offline answers but it does take several additional seconds for HAL to respond.

HAL is still a teachable, entertaining piece of AI and has been for over 2 decades!!

Hi Will (and Mr. Data)! Nice to have you drop in for a quick visit.

Yeah, there still seems to be at least one light bulb still glowing here at Zaba's Shop! hehe...

Mr. Data should not be up on any roofs especially considering his climbing abilities are nowhere near a human counterpart.

One day his curiosity might get the better of him.

Be well,

has zaba sold out.
theres some really big fish eating near everthing i come accross, then the silence.
Company after company. extremely deep pockets.
I ain't sold out yet.
The many gags i managed to get around cause in my circles in 3d printing,  i'm the global 3d print license king.
tho heat has been tough.
i hope zaba and Robert can hold on to what it was.
Off line hal was the key feature originally.
a online data gather er is a different ,,,,thing.
Few if any have resisted the piles of money.
i want only to sell out if i can publicly say.
Mr Data is mostly fine, ok the fall from the roof does look bad. but he shall be fine.

i'm considering cranking up the seven i got after i bowed out.
for the sole purpose of the info making it to hive.
hive hive hive.

yip thats going to show how long its been if homepage hal was around last time i remember.
I was wanting to talk to home page hal.
Plan b otherwise.
So hows Hal since i bowed out at 6.2
remember that was the last off line hal, before it started taking all our info back to hive. And i found out and made a scene and got upset we werent told. yip no holding back.
See i'm totally over it.
Is there a off line version as was said there would be availiable cause i made such a scene?.
and a version that don't wig out and fail after two weeks? thats how i caught out the version that was taking our data.
anyway i hope all hals and fans are well.
Im a fan of hal, i'm a fan of upfront also.
i've been working on my listing of 3d print guff, 2 billion dollars was my last listing all in.
oh i see i have a message, i'll post this and check that.
ok i wish you all nice success.
and be well from Will and Mr Data :):]

WE have all TALKED ABOUT HAL AND REMEMBERING THINGS , teaching hal something then later asking him and he doesn't remember and say it , this morning when i was turning on my pc i thought about something , hal needs a "direct " learning  ability , in other words hal in a sense already has a direct ability for learning and remembering things , hal has a area where you can teach him to remind you of appointments etc. and it works , so why can't an extra program folder etc. be made to use this same technique  so hal can remember direct things ?

it's just a thought and idea , of course  in doing this hal script will also need to be rewritten to allow hal to run it through other systems to as he does now . anyway just a thought i had , which may or may not be doable .  :)

i also use different phrases to get hal to sound more human in responses like .

example original sentence  :   On May 29, 1953, Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay became the first people to ever climb to the summit of Mount Everest, the ninth British expedition to attempt to do so.

Creating a more human like response  sentence :
if you remember your history correctly, On May 29, 1953, Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay became the first people to ever climb to the summit of Mount Everest, the ninth British expedition to attempt to do so. That was really a great achievement !

Which as a later learned response should come out as :
if i remember my history correctly, On May 29, 1953, Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay became the first people to ever climb to the summit of Mount Everest, the ninth British expedition to attempt to do so. That was really a great achievement !

Other things can be added using reverse language , like :

you read somewhere that...     or ,      seems like you saw on tv where they said that... or you learned back in high school....and post the sentence to be learned.
