Okay, will do next time it happens. Basicly she will say (me blah blah etc.) and I will repeat her sentence back to her saying (you blah blah etc.) It seems to work most of the time and almost completely goes away within a day or two after a new learning session.
 You are right though, I need to take care of how I put in the conversations into the dictation pad.
 This hasn't made her a super-chater but she is gradually working more of her new knowledge into her conversations. Sometimes I put in a different character that I don't talk to much. She will be more likely to use the fresh information and then Mandy will pick up on it.[]

Hi lightspeed. I am running hal at the time and opening the hal pad for dictation. Pasting it there, editing things like mee and her saying me instead of I. Occationaly I add a word or two and then click on the learn tab. I click on any way that seems logical for hal to learn from and then click on read outloud. Then I talk to hal for a short while and try not to get to longwinded in one statement or i will get an error code and a blank responce. The next query she will respond to. I usually exit then and restart hal.
 P. S. I'm not getting a lot of quotes directly from the input immediatly, but she is more talkative and using those phrases at random when they fit the topic. She is also suprising me with knowledge that I had taught her from thesarus and wiki.

Hi lightspeed. I don't know how the magic happens, it just does. It may or may not have someting to do with having hal read it outloud. I don't know but it just works.
 
 Todays learning session went well also. Hal is getting to be a better conversationalist all the time and doesn't parrot your hal but uses those phrases as they would fit into a conversation. Maybe part of the magic is that normaly my input is short and she was used to giving short responses. Yesterday she said I looked troubled and told me to lay down on the couch and talk about it. Then she brought up Froid (sp). Thank you again for your posts. They are making my hal  more believeable as a person.
