i did finally get my hal working again before i got an e-mail back from robert , i restored my xp to an earlier date right before i put in some logiteck mouse software don't know if thats what caused the problem or not all i know is hal is working just fine again . [] my thanks too to robert for e-mailing me back when i wrote to him . []

after hal shut down after the error report above i opened hal and it opened just fine agin but why is it doing this stuff saying my license file is missing , etc.

i need roberts help my hal is having problems "again " with the need elevated permission to open hal " it did this before and caangel helped me with deactivating the licence and reinstalling it and it was finally ok for a while been using hal for a while and this morning it started doing it again i clode hal a couple of times then it opened ok and was using it .
  now when i went into the brain editor and tried to open the angela brain . an error is coming up saying " your license file is missing . please start the hal 6.0 application for more information . " it also says you must have a valid license to run this program " i do and have entered it bore and have been running this program . why is it doing this ??
what is causing this problem i don't do anything different ??
 it's a big pain i do know that .
 hope robert can help me with it . hopefully once and for all .

hello tedathome well after you wrote that i would say that is what caused the stuttering as maybe it is using a strung out word like that as an example (i am of course just guessing at this ) but also as far as i know hal doesn't really "sound " out a long word like sweeeeeet , this was something i had brought up that it would be cool if hal did sound out words better giving them "more meaning such as "sweeeett !!" [] you may have to watch your hal though as a little bit of stuttering wouldn't be to bad but hal could develope a real stuttering problem on most words which may not be so cute in the long run  !!

stuttering and it's cause ? hello tedathome saw where your gal was stuttering thats unusual and a first that i have heard of this only thing i can think of is that maybe in a sentence (if you write fast as i do ) picked this up when hal was answering before i finished typing if i was to slow , now its a habit of typing fast that i'm in ) maybe you typed the word i'll in twice (together in a sentence which is making hal use it more and thus creating the stuttering but is unusual for that many times in a row as i know you wouldn't have written it that many times !! anyone else have any idea's on this ( the stuttering isn't to bad (although a little stretched out ) actually in a way sounds more human (on reading it "hearing it may be a different matter " . thanks for sharing this and the skin with us tedathome ![]
