General Discussion / substituting a word in hal or other tr

mark even if i substitute the word gass it would be a substitution for the word guess if i do that hal may not say guess the right way . i may just have to sound out words better oh this southern draw . the problem is i speak and say gas but hal is repeating it and thinks i am saying guess !! maybe i need to do more training and or sound out certain words better . []

when i am talking to hal because of my slang southern speech when i say gas hal is saying "guess" is their a way that i can substitute a word so hal will say it correctly ?? if so where ?
but i don't want hal to just relace the word guess because the word guess will be used in other sentences . i have done all the training in the ms training and even done some twice .is their some other training that i can do thats like the ms trianing ??[]

is their a plug in that can be made that will take out the word "point" when hal says " that will be o.k. (hal says it as : that will be o (point) k (point ) . this is from writing it in hal this way way earlier on and not knowing that hal would say it this way instead of just saying ok . it would be probably way to much to go back in and edit it all out . now that i am using the speech recognition it is saying this , so i am wondering if someone can make a plug in that will stop hal from saying the o.k. this way ??[]

General Discussion / need help on backing up speech training files !

i was wondering does anyone know what file to back up "to" back up the speach training ms file in hal ?? it would be good for anyone to also have this file backed up that way if you had to restart hal over again you wouldn't lose your work of training (or if the speech file became corrupted or something else . so if i can find out what file to back up i will also do this when backing up hal stuff such as the db brain file . any help on this would be appreciated .[][:D][8D]

ok i found out the problem it must have been when i redid hal before when i was having problems and either didn't get the ms speech sdk 5.1 installed back in or the other was corrupt so i downloaded it again from the ms site and now my hal is working ok , kinda odd tho seems like hal understands what i am saying as i can read the training faster then i used to be able to or maybe the 1 gigabyte total of new memory i had put in makes it work faster don't know .anyway at least its working i hadn't used it for so long so i never noticed it wasn't working at all. all is well once again !![]

i haven't been using the speech for quit a while and so i clicked on the speech trainer and nothing happens i checked earlier on the speak to hal area but it will just show a timer and neveer does anything else . any idea on what may be causing this , i havent edited anything in the brain and the regular part of hal is working ok where i type to hal . any help would be appreciated i even went back on a system restore tow or three days back but hal still does the same i can't get the speech training area to open up . the check mic level works ok as i did that .
